A Day at the Park: Quezon City Memorial Circle

Oct 30, 2008

Our family loves the Quezon City Memorial Circle. On weekends, we would cook breakfast at home, lug our trusty banig, ready our running, badminton and basketball gears and head off to the park at 5am on Sunday mornings. There are lots of activities for the family. We picnic. We run. We play badminton (there are lots of badminton nets all around). There are chess boards and various group activities like aerobics and exercises. There are bible study groups, the boxing enthusiasts, stuntments and Chinese groups doing their exercises. There are also lots of bikes for hire. The playground, which my kids thoroughly enjoy, was designed by the National Artist Napoleon Abueva.

I truly applaud the Quezon City goverment headed by Mayor Sonny Belmonte for their effort to continually improve the park to make it enjoyable for the whole family.

Here are some of our photos, taken during two consecutive Sundays. For really good quality pictures of the QC Circle, check this out. Oh, and for great information, useless or otherwise, go ask the Batang Kyusi.
