Happy Graduation, Kris!

Apr 3, 2009

How time flies! My sister Kris graduated from high school last Wednesday. I can still remember when she was a shy first year testing the waters of high school. She is a very active and diligent student, always on the Top 10 of her class. She is always part of an activity in and out of school. She was a once a model student for her class and was also awarded Most Civic Oriented Student. She was also given a special award for Science on their recognition day last Tuesday.

She took the UPCAT, but did not make the cut, but passed the PUPCET with flying colors. Initially, I wanted her to take up Civil Engineering, but her final decision is to study Journalism. It was among my suggestions since she was also part of their high school paper's editorial team.

My mother, and most parents were teary-eyed during the graduation ceremony, especially when the graduates sang Lipad by Lea Salonga. One heartwarming instance in the ceremony was when the class valedictorian was giving his address and towards the end, he dedicated his success to his parents and said "Ma, Pa, Thank You Po" and the whole graduating class said it with him. The guests, parents and teachers laughed merrily.

Again, congratulations Kris, on this momentous occasion! This is not an end for you, but rather a start of a new and exciting journey.
