BFF Spa: A Friday Night Date

Apr 26, 2012

BFF Spa Blue Ridge Branch
We bought 3 vouchers from Deal Spot for the body scrub with 90 minutes massage from BFF Spa for only P350 and my friends and I, together with our husbands went on Friday night spa date.  Unfortunately, our reservation was wrongly logged for the following Friday and they were fully booked.

I told the girl that we were willing to come back the following Friday if she will give use free vouchers but she said that she cannot and will just see what can be done.  I guess she canceled some of the schedules because we were asked to go inside the room, thirty minutes after our appointed schedule.
the eager spa goers
We promised our husbands an hour massage and instead of buying them the P99 vouchers, we just bought them at the spa.  But even though I made an appointment for all us, the girl told me that they can only be accommodated at 10pm because the 9pm did not want to be cancelled and was getting mad. So I told them calmly that I also did not want my scheduled canceled, and we were there already and I can also get mad if they don't give me my appointment. So they finally had their massage an hour after our appointment.
the massage-ready husbands
As for the body scrub and massage, it was okay.  If we did not experience a much better scrub and massage at Bejewelled Spa and nothing to compare it with, we would have been satisfied. But it was still okay.  The massage room was okay and they changed the linens right away.  They have slippers, but didn't give us any.  Maybe there were just flustered because of the schedule.  They also have these nice sarong and we looked quite nice, ha ha.
bestfriend's forever
They didn't have a shower area at their Blue Ridge Branch, so after the scrub, they wiped us off with warm water.  It was soothing and refreshing and the massage was nice too. For the price of P350, it was actually well worth it, specially if you are with friends. They still have deals on going at Dealspot but here are their services and the prices.

Setting Your Priorities in Order

My family
Got this from my inbox and I found it too good not to share:

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and two cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and fills it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured it into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “YES”.

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions. Things, that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.” he said.

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “There is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you...” he told them.

“So... pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Worship with your family. Play with your children. Take your partner out to dinner. Spend time with good friends. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the dripping tap. Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled and said, “I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

Online Shopping

We all want the best for our families. We furnish our homes with things that we think will make their life easier and more fun.  Sometimes, we don't mind spending a little more for these things for the ones we love.  Last week, I saw this beautiful couch from a magazine and I had to go to several shops to look for it but I still wasnt able to find.  Then I saw it online. I was hesitant to order it because I have heard of so many horror stories on delivery complaints.  I want to buy this couch because it will give my home a nice look and it will bring comfort to my family, but I don't want to be unnecessarily burdened by constant follow up on the status of a shipment.  I was thinking of just buying another couch that I liked that I saw looking for that one couch that I love!  But my doubts were eased when I read about a good shipping company that I can rely on! I read about complaints shipsmart to check on how reliable they can be.  So now, I would be looking again at that couch and finally hitting the Buy button!

Be Kind Anyway

LP 195: Babasahin

Apr 19, 2012

Our First Family Visita Iglesia Experience

Apr 8, 2012

I have never done any Visita Iglesia in my life but for this year, I want to do it for the first time with my family. I printed the prayers and the stations of the cross for each one of us, and on the dawn of Holy Thursday, we were off to visit and offer prayers on seven churches. The plan was to see those churches enroute to our home in Montalban where we will be staying for the long weekend. Our first stop was at the Sto. Domingo Church in Araneta. The church was still closed but when we saw people praying at the door, we followed suit.
Our next stop was at St. Peter Parish along Commonwealth. It is a very beautiful church, inside and out! I will post more pictures about it on separate post later.
The next church we visited was the San Jose de Ampid Parish in San Mateo, Rizal. It was one the churches that I prayed to when our house was under construction. It was closed but we can see the covered altar from where we were praying.
The next church was the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Aranzazu. It was also closed but there was a big group of parishioners getting ready for their own Visita Iglesia.
Our next church was Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary in Rodriguez, Rizal. It was just beside the municipal hall. The church was very quiet.
Our most favorite church so far was the St. Raphael Archangel Parish located almost near Wawa in Rodriguez Rizal. It was pretty, inside and out, and was very quiet. We can hear crickets while we were praying. This is a kind of church that I can imagine myslef getting married.
And the last church we said our prayers and concluded our Visita Iglesia was in San Jose chapel in Montalban. This is already on the way inside Dela Costa Homes where we have a home.
It was great experience for the family. Truth be told, I am not sure if we followed the rules in Visita Iglesia, but one this is for sure, we loved visitng these churches and saying our prayers. I hope that we each of use got our prayers answered.

Happy Easter Sunday to All!

Our Lord's triumph over death is our our very own story of hope and salvation! Have a blessed Easter Sunday to all!
