Once in a while, we haul our lazy butts off the office and eat outside for a change. And this was well worth the trip to Kapitolyo from our office in Ortigas on a rainy Friday afternoon! Our friend Jana swear that the food here was good and she was right! I loveeee everything!
We had beef tacos, quesadillas, chicken wings, all of these to share, and then we each had either the burger or the soft shells tacos and the dalandan juice. Apologies for the photos, but we were really hungry and the food was really, really great! And with all that, our bill only came to about P1,300! Not bad for such great food!
Silantro Fil-mex Cantina is located at 75 East Capitol Drive, Kapitolyo, Pasig.

I am going to the movies tomorrow, thanks to Globe and Nuffnang! This is for the awesome contest I joined a few days ago! And the good news is, I might be the winner of one Smartphone from Globe! Yep, excited is my name!#GlobeGoBiggerMovieNight
One of the places that you have to visit when you go to Davao City is the People's Park. Entrance is free, but they have a very strict guard at the gate, who looked thoroughly at our bags. I think they were looking for writing materials that can be used to vandalize the place, like markers and such because we saw a lot of them left at the table. Anyway, I am all for security so I didn't mind the search.
The park is huge and very beautiful! There were so many beautiful art installations and just a lot to see that represents Davao. After that heart lunch at Blue Carabao, we were just too happy to walk it off and have lots of pictures taken. The boys slept at the benches because they were tired after the Paanod. We stayed at the park for more than an hour before we were ready to go back to the hotel for our flight back to Manila.

Our trip in Davao last June was very memorable, because once more, we have proven that great happiness indeed came from bad plans! Hahaha! It was my idea to do water-tubing as we already tried White Water Rafting in Cagayan De Oro earlier this year. I am usually the itinerary planner, and so we added the water tubing to our adventure. I contacted Layak thru their Facebook page, and so for P450 per pax, we were good to go.
We also rented a jeepney for P1,400 to take us from the hotel to Layak's shop and back as we were pressed for time. When we got to the shop, they loaded the tubes and the gears and we were off to the Tolomo river for our adventure. We were suited up, and had an orientation and demonstration. There were 5 of them for the 8 of us and several extra tubes.
It looks very easy, but I tell you: IT'S HARD! You are on your own tube so you have to propel yourself and stay afloat. Since the tubes rotate, you have to move your body so that you are always facing forward so that you will not topple over, which I did quite a lot!
I had several cuts and bruises and I lost my charm bracelet (which I forgot to take off )when I had a particularly bad fall. The instruction was just to float and hold on to the vest and somebody will pull you up. But there were rocks and the current was strong and I was dragged a few feet before I was pulled up. My hand got hit by a big stone and was swollen in an instant. They assigned one guide to me after that but I would still topple over!
But was it worth it? Oh yeah!!!! But will I do it again? Hell, No! Will I recommend it to people? Yes, of course! We all had fun, and although I was the most injured in the group, I had the most fun! The cuts and bruises were not serious but I got scared during my bad fall, but I knew it was just my luck. Nobody else fell on the spot where I toppled over, hahaha. They keep saying it was my baby fats, hahaha.
Anyway, I love how the guides from Layak were very capable and they also know how to have fun! Try it for yourself, if you must, hahahah!

You are lucky when you have friends, and doubly lucky when you know that they have your best interest at heart. Aside from my sisters Dianne and Kris, I am lucky to call these girls my best friends!
Today is a rainy Monday, and I had a fight with my alarm since 5:00 am. Classes has been suspended so I was snuggling warmly with my kids as I beg for 5 more minutes from my alarm, until I finally had to relent at 830am. It was still a victory, having stayed in bed for 3 more hours after first being woken up but I really did not want to come to work, what with the heavy rains and flooded streets. But as an adult, I have responsibilities, so here I am at work. But I am listing down the things I would rather be doing this very minute.
1. In with my kid's tangled legs draped all over me.
2. Having breakfast of fried rice, scarmbled egg and tuyo.
3. Or sopas, champorado or lugaw, perhaps.
4. Reading a book in bed
5. Doing a horror-movie marathon while snuggled in bed
6. Checking out how online casino works
7. Planning our itinerary for the coming Palawan trip
8. Eating chips while watching movies
9. Doing my homework or studying for finals (ugh, the responsible adult thing again!)
10. Dreaming of hiking a mountain (yeah, dreaming, coz I really wont hike when its pouring like this!)
These are just some of the things that I would rather be doing than being stuck here in the office, hahaha!

Last Wednesday, we were able to watch About Time, thanks to our friend Rona who works at Philhealth. They have free tickets and she asked us to join her and her husband. And when I am with my friends, I am always prepared to enjoy myself whether over dinner, over a massage or over a movie. It was just an extra added bonus that the movie About Time was indeed very good.
Spoiler Alert!!! The movie is about Tim, who discovers he can travel back in time and he does so to make some things in his life better. He met Mary one night, but had to go back in time to help a friend of his father with his play, which means he didn't get to meet Mary. So he made plans to meet Mary and they did eventually marry. After his daughter was born, his sister had an accident and he went back in time to try to change it, he had a different child which means he cant travel back further than when his kids were born, otherwise, they will change. So he had to make his sister realize her mistake without going back in time. Then they discovered his dad has cancer and cant be cured anymore. Tim used time travel to spend more time with his father but he had to finally say goodbye when his third child was born. His dad told home to re-live his days, the first time with all the stress and the next one, to just enjoy it. Until such time when Tim realizes that it is better to live each day once and enjoy it to the fullest.
I love the British dry humor and I love Rachel McAdams so I really love this film. It really made me feel good!

Getting a tattoo has been on my bucket list forever. And I my first ink last year at Ink Asia. But like they said, once you start, you probably would want to have more! So when I saw vouchers on sale at Ensogo for Wild Ones Tattoo, I didn't even hesitate and got 2 vouchers for myself. Then I sent my design to them via Facebook and set an appointment for myself last Saturday.
Wild Ones Tattoo is located at President's Ave in BF Homes Paranaque. It was easy to locate, even coming from Sta Mesa in Manila. The shop is clean and looks well-maintained. When I got there, we work on my design while waiting for the artist who texted that he was on his way. For my nape, I initially wanted a heart thumbprint but according to Eric, it wont look as nice in the size that I prefer. And while they can do it, it won't look as good in 6 months. Good thing they told me that so I opted for this linear elephant tattoo.
Since I already had a tattoo on my foot, which was really painful by the way, getting one at the nape was relatively easy. It was painful, but not as painful as the one on my foot. My wrist tattoo, which was birds in flight for my 3 kids was a success and not even painful anymore!
The tattoo artist was Mark or Batas to fliptop admirers like my son, who cant believe I didn't even ask to have a photo with him! I told Eric that these two tattoos are my last and I'm done with inking, he told me he doesn't believe me, and you know what, I think he's right! Hahahaha!
