My son was of the passers of the recent PUP entrance examination and I was so happy, I cried! I know that this will mean a lot of savings to my family and I can maybe, finally have some savings. I am just so thankful and proud of my son. Congratulations again and thank you for making us proud!

Happy High School Graduation!

My first born, all of 16 years old, had his high school graduation last night! I am so proud of him and all that he was able to accomplish.  I know that this is the end of his high school life, but just the beginning of a new and exciting chapter! And we are here to support him all the way! Congratulations, Anak!

Wednesday Happy Thoughts!

I have so much to be thankful for this week! Happiness is:
1. Drexelle for passing the PUP entrance exam. Yey!
2. Danniel is Top 3, Superior in Math and Best in Mathscore.
3. Denise is Top 5 and she vowed to do better.
4. Almost done with my thesis proposal then I can say goodbye to this school year as well.
5. Done with the presentation at work. Yebah!
6. Doing my lent penitence (no meat) even though we have been eating out for the past days. Thank you God! This is such a small sacrifice for all your blessings!
7. Lots of work but loving it.
8. No gym for the week, except for Monday, and yet, no guilt. Hahaha!
9. Coffe for keeping me sane.
10. The kid's vacation officially start today! Yehey!

Happy Wednesday! Happiness is:
1. Done with the report for Sunday and therefore, I have more time to devote to doing that dang thesis!
2. Paid my IPhone in full already! Insert happy dance here.
3. Reading books on the Kindle in my IPhone. Simple joys!
4. Denise is Top 5 and Danniel is Top 3, and Drex is graduating! Yey for education!
5. Successful no-meat diet so far.
6. A climb this March 30!
7. My imbento meals like pasta with corned tuna. Hehehe, walang lasa!
8. Helpful friends. You know who you are.
9. Nikka and Micko's graduation and recognition and just hanging out with the siblings and family. This is love!
10. Praying the rosary, for keeping me sane.

Wednesday Happy Thoughts!

Happiness is:
1. My husband already found a new job! Yey! Hope his pre-employment stuff turns out okay.
2. My score at the final exams last Sunday was great! I know I passed that subject with flying colors.
3. Going to the Grad School library for the first time.
4. Eating healthy and being able to forego meat and chips  for Lent.
5. Planning a Mt. Pulag trip. Super excited!
6. Running and core exercises. Hope I see results soon for all this pain.
7. Reading on my IPhone. Was finally able to download the Kindle App and free ebooks.
8. Corned tuna.
9. Coffee
10. Just  2 Sundays and I am done with my MBA subjects for this semester. I am so looking forward to summer!

10 Things That I Want To Tell My 19 Year Old Self

Ten things that I want to tell my 19-year old self:

  1. If you can help it, don't get married right away. Make sure to finish your studies and then look for a nice job that you will love and enjoy. If you have a partner, make sure he finishes his degree too. Don't take no for an answer on that score because it will get harder for him and for your family if he doesn't. But if you can't help it, then get married.  It won't be easy, and at times it could even be so hard you would want to quit, but it will always be worth it.
  2. Get 2 years of work experience, then go back to school right away.  It gets a little harder to go back to studying when you are a little older and a wife, a mother, an employee and a student.  There are so many distractions that your focus tends to be a little off.  If you want to study, and I know you do because I am doing it right now, do it right away!
  3.  Travel. Going places is a great way to learn and appreciate life.  It doesn't always have to be a grand vacation and budget travel is okay and is even fun, so go and visit places you have never been to before. And do things that you have never done before. It will make you a better person, more appreciative of what is around you.
  4. Take good care of your body. Its the only one you've got.  Exercise and eat properly, and maintain a normal weight so you wont have to worry about hypertension, diabetes and the likes.  And it makes dressing up a lot easier too!
  5. Read, read as much as you can.  It is never a waste of time to sit quietly in a corner and travel in faraway places with just one book.  
  6. Learn to say " I Love You" and "I'm Sorry."  It doesn't cost anything and the people around you will always know how much they mean to you.
  7. Strive to be the better person always.  You don't always have to win, you don't always have to be right.  But you must always be kind.
  8. Love your mother with all your heart. For all her faults, she is your biggest and truest supporter.  Don't be shy in telling her you love her.
  9. Let go of your insecurities.  They will just weight you down.  Have a little more faith in yourself.  You are a strong person.
  10.  Try to enjoy life more. Just because you are enjoying yourself doesn't mean you are being irresponsible. Besides, what is the point of all this if you do not enjoy it?

Travel is Love

If you ask me what I would rather be doing this very moment, I would say I would be traveling! I would be in another country looking at their wondrous culture, or in some island of the Philippines where I would either be swimming (more like wading) in a beach or climbing a mountain!  I would be experiencing new things, food and adventure. And I am thankful that I am able to do that now.  I know that some people do not understand how I would rather do this than say, buy new gadgets, but this is my vice.  To me, this is love.  It is something that I enjoy doing and I would continue to do until I am old.  I am lucky to have my family love traveling as much as I do even though we do not always have the means to.  I am thankful to my husband and superfriends who are likeminded, and I know that we will be going places together, both literally and figuratively!

And my advise to you, do it now! So that when you are old, you have lots of stories and memories to tell your grandkids! Been there, done that, as they say!

Friday Letters

Dear Lent, For this year, I will try to do something special.  I will avoid meat and chips.  Hope I can do this as a form of penance.  Dear Exercise, I wish running makes one slim right away and the fats just disappear after a 5km run! But why are you oh-so-difficult? Dear Thesis, Why are you so difficult? It is as if my mind is programmed to resist working on you and would rather work on all or any other stuff just to avoid you! Why am I doing this again? Huwaaaaaa!!! Dear Work, I am happy that I am busy because I get to learn some things, but why so many all of a sudden? Dear Coffee, Thank you for keeping me sane!  Dear March, I am oh-so-ready for you to end!!!
