On our 3rd in Cambodia last February, we were aboard the bus on our way to Phnom Penh on possibly the slowest bus on earth by 8am. Here is a tip: if you are going to Phnom Penh from Siam Reap, buy your bus tickets before hand so you can choose seats at either Ibis or some other well-known bus company. We only bought our ticket the day before, in the afternoon, on a ticket office and not at the bus station. At the ticket office, we were told that all the nice buses were already fully booked so we had no choice but to buy from a local bus and it was soo soooo slooooooowwwww!
Anyway, I had no pictures on the road this year so the picture below was from my trip with my office mates last year: just photos of monks and the rural landscape. Not much to see and do except to sleep, and eat!
Our bus had a 30-minute stop over for lunch at this restaurant by the roadside and we ate the local dishes below. Sorry but we didn't get the name of the dishes but they were really good, and cheap too!
We arrived in Phnom Penh a little before 4pm and we rode 2-tuktuks from the station to the hotel for $2 each, after we made a deal with the driver to drive us for a tour the following day.
