I Would Do Anything For Love and other one hit wonders

This forwarded email made my day :-)

Other contemporaries of Meatloaf are Soul Asylum (Runaway Train), Blind Melon (No rain), Crash Test Dummies (Mmm Mmm),Deep Blue Something (Breakfast at Tiffanys), Def Leppard (Two Steps Behind) and 4 Non Blondes (Whats Up). I want to hear their music again and travel back to my college days when my only problem was making it to class on time. Really, forwarded emails and music can bring you back in time and wonder about one hit wonders and what you would do for love. :-)

Lehman Brothers vs The brothers Jonas

Sep 24, 2008

The brothers Lehman has become more famous than the brothers Jonas. Obviously, I was clueless as to who those brothers were. And who are Ginnie Mae, Frannie Mae and Freddie Mac?. He he. Asked to arrange a call to listen on topics about Frannie and Freddie, I was like, who are these people? Blissfully ignorant indeed. Luckily, I found this very useful link for people like me and I'm ignorant no more! Mabuhay ang Reyna Elena! Now, I am beginning to understand whats happening outside of my cubicle!

Do you Google your Ex?

Do you Google your Ex? Do you search for them in Friendster or Multiply and other social networking sites? And do you add them as friends when you did find them?

Hmmm. Thoughts anyone?

This musing was inspired by that very bad idea ;-)

Bad Idea Pt 1

If your partner asks you anything about any of your former relationships, don't give any answer. Its damn if you do, damn if you don't. Truth is overrated, I tell you. (Insert long sigh here) You can't win. I mean isn't there a statute of limitations for these kind of things? Can you still be blamed for folly's of your youth? Like things that happened 13 years ago? Ha ha, okay so the love of my life didn't "overreact." He was just "surprised." But not as surprised as I was, I tell you!I was mentally banging my head on the wall for being stupid enough to answer the incriminating question. Hay naku, basta take it from me. Never, as in never, give any details.

Oh, the question? What was the question? If we are this tight, I might just tell you :-)

The Eraserheads Reunion Concert:BITIN!

Sep 22, 2008

Due to insistent public demand, here are my phots during THE CONCERT. Sorry for the quality of the pictures but I was using my camera phone. And because I was already crazily singing with the band and did'nt care for pictures anymore :-) I was there for the band, the music and Oh boy, we were all so high. People behind me were shouting "group hug, group hug"and Ï love you Markus!" It was crazy!

yep, SVIP passes!

Some celeb sightings there, but i dont care. I am glued to the stage. Senator Zubiri and his wife were in front of us and shook my husband's hands but I wasn't interested. I came here for the Eheads!
Was going crazy by this time!

Oh no! Ely's sister and the band made the the sad accouncement.

I want more! But of course, Ely's health is the the foremost consideration here, but it was really bitin. They were supposed to sing more songs: maskara, poorman's grave, torpedo, trip to jerusalem, back to me,maselang bahaghari, maling akala, tikman, spolarium, magasin, para sa masa, overdrive, pare ko, minsan, huling el bimbo. Dang, I really want more!

I was this close to the stage! Hu hu hu!

Writing here is like keeping a diary. Only, its available for the whole world to see. Open to criticisms, jeers and taunts. Praises, although much welcome, makes me cringe sometime, thinking myself unsuitable. There goes the doubt, and the uncertainty again.

How much of myself am I willing to share to the world? What aspects of my life am I going to talk about here and not fear that it will haunt me in the future? Should I open my life by way of anecdotes and snippets for a few laughs?

Virginia Woolf said:

"It is worth mentioning, for future reference, that the creative power which bubbles so pleasantly in beginning a new book quiets down after a time, and one goes on more steadily. Doubts creep in. Then one becomes resigned. Determination not to give in, and the sense of an impending shape keep one at it more than anything."

So am I on the right track in doubting myself?

I will let you know as soon as I know.

Cheesy Pick-Up Lines

Cleaning out my inbox, here are some cheesy pick-up lines we used to get in daily dose from THE MAN, Boss Mickey!

"May kilala ka bang gumagawa ng relo?? May sira ata relo ko. Pag ikaw

10 Reasons You Are'nt Rich

Sep 15, 2008

by Jeffrey Strain
The Street.Com

So, I want to be rich. Just like, well, everybody.
According to this article, here are 10 reasons why I am not. He said it has nothing to do with the amount of money I make but on the way I treat money on my daily life. Let us examine this article closely and see whether I am really on a very wrong track.

You Care What Your Neighbors Think-Do I care what my neighbors think? Are you kidding me? Of course I do. I think everybody does. But it doesn't mean I compete with them and buy things just to impress them. I'm after the comfort and well being of my family. So yes, maybe sometimes, I buy more than I can afford, but hey, don't you?
2. You Aren't Patient-No, I'm not.
3. You Have Bad Habits-No, I don't have bad habits. I don't drink (more than the occasional wine), smoke or gamble. I don't even use my money to buy books!
4. You No Goals-Of course I have my goals. My goal is to become rich! Okay, he said its more than saying "I want to be a Millionaire." Maybe, I haven't articulated my goal very well. Okay, so maybe, I will be more specific. I want to able to save P2,000.00 every payday. That specific enough, or realistic enough?
5. You Haven't Prepared- No I haven't.
6. You Try to Make a Quick Buck-Yes, I play the Lotto. But please don't tell my mother that she is more likely to be struck by lightning than to win the lottery. It will break her heart.
7. You Rely On Others to Take Care of Your Money-No, not really. There's not a lot to take care of anyway.
8. You Invest On Things You Don't Understand-Not really. More of, I don't have the guts.
9. You're Financially Afraid-Yes I am.
10. You Ignore Your Finances-Yes. I Do.

Sigh. I think we all know now why I am not rich. According to this article, its not only that I don't have enough money, but that I don't give enough value to what I already have.
So now we all what I need to work on.

Next stop, financial independence.

Bohol, Here I Come!

Sep 12, 2008

Okay, so its three months from now. But I am already very excited planning this trip. Plan A is to bring the three kiddies along if Rona and Ehms will come with us. Rona is almost sure. Ehms needs more convincing. Okay, come November, Ehms would have to pay for the tickets, whether she like it or not! Hey guys, I thought we will try to visit at least one new place every year? We went to Baguio and Boracay (more on these trips later) last year and its September already and we have no definite plans yet. Rona has been roaming the archipelago this year for work. Where is she now by the way? But travelling with family and friends is very different. Its more expensive, more tiring for the mommies (or Daddies, in the case of Rodney, he he love you Rons!) and a lot more fun!

But there is always the reality that money is scarce (sniff, sniff) and it may just be the two us (Hubby and I) off to our honeymoon. Um, did I say this is Plan B, more like THE PLAN, dontcha think?

Stay tuned for more of my Bohol plans...

Pretend like you know what you are doing.

Here is one advice that I can use when it comes to doing this blogging thing. Sure, writing isn’t just streaming words together. But since I am not bothered by content just yet, then I think I know what I am doing. And if anybody out there would like to say otherwise, then come and brag about it. And while at it, make your own blog.

I also read somewhere, “My blog, my rules.” This also definitely applies.

So yeah, I blog.

Why Blog when you can Brag(Or is it the other way around?)

Sep 10, 2008

Okay, lets do this.

I dont know what to write.

I dont have content, content and content.

I have been a blog reader for 6 years now.

My favorite blogs are Kwentong Tambay, Sassy Laywer, Renaissance Girl, Perezhilton to name a few. If you have read them, like I regularly do, you would be intimidated. These people write so well. They are like internet gods already.

So, why am I doing this?

I am not a masochist. I dont want to die a slow and painful cyberdeath.

I want to enjoy my cybernonimity. (Is there such a word?!)

But like it said in Desiderata, "Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story."

So now, I am dull and ignorant, but I also have a story to tell.

And guess what, my story could be your story.
