Wear It Your Way With Wacoal

May 30, 2013

Nothing makes a woman feel more beautiful and confident than knowing that she wears sexy yet sensible underwear. For a woman on the go, she always have to have that versatile bra that will work on any outfit. And I just love this one!

WB7513This bra provides full coverage as well as uplift without the wire. Wide side panels eliminate any unwelcome bulges and create a more slender silhouette, making this an ideal bra for the female sophisticate.
Since I am a budget traveler, a runner, a wannabe-mountain climber and a working mom, this bra will just be perfect for me and my body in any of these outfits:
  1. On shorts/jeans and shirts-my usual outfit when I travel and or when I run;
  2. On my smart casual or work dresses for my daily office get-up;
  3. and on those rare occasions when I have to dress to the nines, like on weddings and formal parties.

I love that this bra will hide my 'unnecessary curves and give me that confidence that I need!  Oh and by the way, Wacoal has just made dressing up more fun by making it easier to Wear It Your Way! Check out the versatile ways you can wear your bra!

Zumba Fail, este Party

What was supposed to be 3 hours of energy-bursting Zumba Party last Sunday, turned out to become almost 3 hours of waiting for the rain to stop.  And in the end, the Zumba Party was cancelled! I was all suited up, and ready for the party, as pictured below.
After registration, we went around Bonifacio High Street just looking at the shops. When we got tired, and when it started raining, we went inside Krispy Kreme for some coffee.
We ended up drinking iced concoctions and eating two donuts each! And then when it was almost 5pm, we went back to the open venue, and discovered that it was cancelled! We have already eaten all the calories we expected to burn that night, hahahaha!
Hope they can re-schedule this party soon!

Energetic at the Energen Family Run 2013

May 28, 2013

Last Sunday, my friends and I were at Bonifacio Global City for the Energen Family Run.  We almost didn't make the registration, good thing Teng was able to find us slots in a registration outlet in Alabang. Anyway, we were not able to register the kids so it was just the three of us.  My husband was with us, as well as my daughter, and they just ran with us anyway.
Overall, the run was well-organized.  There are enough hydration stations and marshalls all over the place.  There was a lootbag for the runners and there were also Energen booths, both free and selling, and a photobooth of course.
Bearwin Meily was the host of the program, and we find him to be very funny and not offensive at all.  We also like the 500M dash for the kids and my daughter wished I was able to register her, and I said next time we will register early.
We stayed until after the raffle was finished because we were laughing so hard at Bearwin.  Anyway, below are the loots for this run.

Transform yourself with Schick

May 24, 2013

"If you had the powers of the Man of Steel for one week, how would you use it?"

If I have the Man of Steel's power for just a week, I will use his superpowers to work on the rivers and drainages in Metro Manila so we will have no more flooding.
  1. I will use his superhuman intelligence to make the waterways work, maybe widen the drainages and improve their design.  Maybe make them huge so that there will be obstruction.
  2. I will use his heat vision to destroy any obstruction in the drainages and rivers so that they will flow freely.
  3. Of course, I will also work on the pollution of the rivers and the smell of the water.  With his superhuman sense of smell and sight, the rivers are awfully gonna make an impression so something must be done about them.
  4. I will use his superhuman strength to relocate shanties and illegal structures in the rivers and waterways, as well as punish the bad guys like those corrupt contractors that make flooding worse by making a quick buck on those drainage projects.

Flooding is a serious problem in Metro Manila and I think that somebody with superhuman abilities will do a lot of difference.  Unless of course we each use our individual powers and make little solutions to this problem that will one day add up to one superhuman effort! Remember, we can all make a difference if we try. We don't need to be superheroes, we just all have to transform ourselves, and care!
that's me, after I have used my superpowers and saved the world!
You too can transform yourself with Schick. Schick. Free Your Skin. No need to be The Man of Steel. Just be yourself.

And if you want to win free movie tickets to the Man of Steel, just click the poster above and join!

My Dream Summer Trip: An Ilocos Adventure

May 23, 2013

the family in Cebu
I love traveling, but unfortunately, I am always limited by my budget and can only really almost always, do a budget trip. i wait for seat sales and plan my travels ahead of time.  I try my best to have one travel for me and my husband, one with my kids, and sometimes, one with the whole family, extended and all. Despite the budget constraints, I always make the most of it, and end up having a fabulous time! It is really up to you to make it a wonderful experience.

But if I have a dream summer trip, it is one where I can bring my whole family: me and my husband and 3 kids, my sister, her husband and 2 kids, and my mom, my mom-in-law and younger sister Kris, to an Ilocos Adventure. Ilocos has everything for everyone: food(need I enurmerate, hahaha), beach(Saud and Pagudpud), history(Vigan), man made wonders(windmills) and nature tripping! My mother in law is from Ilocos, and she will gladly take us around.  The only thing stopping us from doing this, other time taking time off from work, is the budget.  It's not easy to budget for 12 people, excluding the driver, for food and lodging and other travel expenses.  While my mom in law has relatives in Ilocos, I wouldnt feel right about imposing on them for more than a night!  But we are planning this for next year, and hopefully, we will be able to pull this off!

Oh and by the way, Native Shoes is giving away P50,000 worth of GCs!!!!

QC Wellness Fun Run

Last Sunday, my friends and I were at QC Memorial Circle for our 'puchu puchung fun run.'  Oh well, it was the QC Wellness Fun Run that we opted to buy at the last minute because it was cheap. And look what we got! I registered online, and my friends bought from Chris Sports. Then we were given a claim stub to get the bib. It says 4am at the ticket, but the booth (or table) was there only at 530am.  There were less than 50 runners!
The starting line.  The organizer was holding a mic and he announced that it was time to run, both for 10K and 6K runners. For 6K runners like us, we had to circle the Circle 3x. There were no marshalls from Blue Concept, just policeman along the way.  And there were bikers who were also doing laps on the circle and you can feel them swooshing by! We had to run at the inner lane as far away from the bikers as we can.
The guy in blue below is the organizer. And that below were all the runners. But it was a fun run, and we just had fun anyway.
My finisher shirt and medal. I think I finished 3rd in the 6K category.  I can't be too sure because there was no timing chip in the bib or anything that would tell us the time.  There was just this guy who asked for my name when I went up to the this table at the finish line where I got my sandwich and water.  The finisher shirt was given when we got our bib earlier before the run.
The run was okay, though the organizers were not quite as prepared and organized.  We were hoping they will just give the extra sunglasses to the top 6K finishers because there were only 4 girls who ran in the 10K but they didnt. Oh well.
Me and my kids, goofing and having fun.  There were lots of activities going on atthe Circle, and they loved the Zumba.  The booths were few but we were the priority as runners.
Here I was on stage, awarding myself, before the awarding began, hahaha.

A River Experience

May 17, 2013

Two weeks ago, my family, together with my sister and her family went home to Batangas for the weekend.  And straight from our 3-hour road trip, we went to the river near their place for a dip. I thought my kids, who are city born and bred would find bathing in the river uncool.  But I was pleasantly surprised that they loved it! They begged for more even after 4 hours and wading and playing in the water, and eating lunch too.  Too bad it was threatening to rain!
This is the river where we went.  Downstream, the kids and the not so young ones were enjoying the cool and clear waters, and there were also some ladies washing clothes.  Just like how I remember it from my childhood!
While I was not in the water wading with my kids, I was walking upstream taking these pictures of the river and of dragon flies! Just like when I was young!
What a fun experience it was! I was able to share with my kids what I did when I was a child and I loved it that they loved it as much as I did.  Too bad we were not staying in Batangas longer for them to be able to repeat the experience.

Kettle Korn: Poppin' Fun All The Time!

May 12, 2013

If I were to star in my own movie, I will be an unwilling heroine.  The plot will be like this: I am a working mom, who unwittingly uncovered a mad man's plan to create weapons of mass destruction and to ultimately rule the world. I used my talents as a programmer to thwart his plan, and despite the threat to my family, I somehow managed to save the world! Actually, the movie is playing now in my head as I type this, and I know that the smell of Kettle Korn Poppin Pop Corn makes my own movie more fun! What else can make movie watching more exciting than by poppin some Kettle Corn!

Make sure to enjoy movie watching more with Kettle Corn! Check out their FB page.

I Found Some Tutubi!

I have a long fascination with Tutubi or dragonflies, hence the name of this blog.  I also have a small dragonfly inked on my foot. So last weeekend when we went home to Batangas for a quick get-away, I was so happy to discover these wonderful tutubi in the river where we took a much needed dip!
I wish you could have seen me when I was a young kid jumping with my cousins over rice fields chasing after grasshoppers and dragonflies!
We used to bathe under the rain and look for frogs and then run when we find them. Our lolo would cook for us corn and camote which we would eat happily after we were dry and safely inside our warm nipa hut.
Seeing these dragonflies makes me fondly remember growing up as a kid, with nary a care in the world.  I am just happy to see these tutubi as a reminder that to a child, everything is wonderful.  I hope that I am able to give that to my kids too.

What Would You Try If You Have No Fear?

May 2, 2013

At this very moment, I can't think of anything that I would like to do if I have no fear. I mean, I don't want to try bungee-jumping, or skydiving just for the fun of it. I see no reason why I would do that.  Not that I am scared, but I don't think I will enjoy it anyway.  The same reason why I don't like roller coaster rides.  I don't see the point of scaring myself silly just to prove a silly point. The things that are stopping me from doing the things that I would love to do are money and time. If the question was, "What would you try if you have all the time and money", then that would be one long list. So, does this mean that I have no fears? Of course I do. I just don't like doing things that will put my life in danger. That would be irresponsible, being a mother and all.

Now climbing mountains may be dangerous and some may say that there is no reason why you should climb one, but I say, why not.  I love the feeling of pushing myself to the limit, and being rewarded by the view of God's wondrous creations.  Now, that is what I call an adventure!

Wednesday Happy Thoughts!
